This Weapon Kills Hate:
Jonah Kendell is an Indie Singer/Songwriter currently based out of Western Maryland. While carrying the Americana Folk Music Tradition, Jonah seeks to explore the genre with modern sensibilities. His lyrics, specifically, aim to capture the current culture and social issues that grip modern society. His most well known song, following this pattern, is No War Please which protests the war in Ukraine. This reputation has lead to the moniker, Product Of His Time.
Kendell’s fiery Folk style is inspired by vagabonds such as Bob Dylan, Willie Watson, Leonard Cohen and even the likes of Arthur Rimbaud! Another Folk Legend that has influenced Kendell is Woody Guthrie, whose guitar famously read This Machine Kills Fascists. Similarly, Kendell has written on his guitar case the phrase, This Weapon Kills Hate, attempting to modernize this classic folk slogan for an era of brand new challenges to face.
